Organ Donation Process
Who can register as an organ donor?
Any individual who is at least 18 years of age can pledge to register as an organ donor. For minors under 18, parental or legal guardian consent is mandatory prior to registration.
When does deceased organ donation actually occur?
Deceased organ donation can only happen after brain death or circulatory death has been formally declared and certified by a panel of authorized medical practitioners under THOTA regulations. Organ retrieval is performed in licensed clinical environments.
Does my family have the final say in the organ donation decision?
Yes. In India, even if you carry a signed digital donor card, the legal consent of your immediate family or legal next-of-kin is mandatory to proceed with retrieval. We strongly encourage discussing your decision with your family.
Are there any costs associated with organ donation for the donor’s family?
No. The donor’s family is never charged for any procedures related to organ retrieval, storage, or transport. All retrieval costs are covered by the transplanting hospital network.
Donations & Tax Benefits
Are monetary donations to Icon Organ Donor eligible for tax benefits?
Yes. All financial contributions processed through our platform qualify for tax deductions under Section 80G of the Indian Income Tax Act. A digital tax exemption certificate is generated and sent to you via email.
What payment methods do you support for monetary contributions?
Through our secure partner gateway Razorpay, we support UPI (Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm), all major Indian Credit and Debit Cards (Visa, Mastercard, RuPay), Net Banking across major banks, and popular digital wallets.
What is your refund policy for duplicate or erroneous donations?
While voluntary donations are generally non-refundable, duplicate charges arising from technical system processing errors or unauthorized fraudulent transactions are eligible for refund. Claims must be filed within 7 days at iconfoundation14@gmail.com, and refunds are processed within 15 working days.

How do I download my digital organ donor certificate?
Once you submit your voluntary pledge on the Icon Organ Donor mobile application, you can view your donor profile and instantly export your E-donor card and pledge certificate as a PDF file.
How is my private medical and personal data protected?
We secure all data transfers with end-to-end SSL/TLS encryption. Access to matching databases is restricted to verified healthcare administrators. We operate in full compliance with the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023.
How can I delete my account and personal records?
You can request deletion at any time. Simply send an email from your registered address to iconfoundation14@gmail.com with the subject "Delete My Account". Your profile and personal metadata will be permanently expunged, excluding records legally required for tax compliance.
